48 Things You Could Care Less About
1. FIRST NAME? Kirsten
2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? A girl my mom sort of knew in college. Evidently this girl was very chic and cool, and my mom wanted to have a daughter like that. I am a grave disappointment in that department, but I think mom likes me anyway.
3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? Bryan Flanagan's funeral. I didn't know Bryan all that well, but his wife's grief was heartrending.
4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? Eh, so-so. People tell me it's nice, but I usually wish it were better.
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCHMEAT? Ham. I know, boring.
6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? Good question. For reasons I've never quite been able to discern (I think I'm quite nice), I've never had a huge cadre of friends. I'd like to say yes, though.
7. DO YOU HAVE A JOURNAL? Nope.
8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS? Yep.
9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP? Absolutely. But probably not until the kids are older.
10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL? I don't really have one. This week I'm eating Fiber One with Oat Clusters because it was on sale at the grocery store. Next week? Who knows. I'm just wild and crazy like that.
11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF? No. And I always regret it the next time I go to put them on.
12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG? Physically, no. Emotionally? My instinct is to say no, but I think the evidence says otherwise.
13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVOR? Whatever happens to be in my cone on that particular trip to the ice cream store.
14. SHOE SIZE? 8 1/2 medium--half a size bigger than before the kids were born. Boogerheads.
5. RED OR PINK? Red.
16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF? My insecurity.
17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST? My grandparents.
18. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO SEND THIS BACK TO YOU? All two of them? Of course.
19. WHAT COLOR PANTS, SHIRT AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING? Brown shoes (my Capezio flats, my absolute favorites), tan pants, red sweater.
20. LAST THING YOU ATE? Breakfast--Fiberone with milk. Soooo exciting.
21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW? My own typing, my space heater.
22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE? Teal--capable of being both bright and cheery or moody and dark.
23. FAVORITE SMELL? My boys' hair (provided it has not been too long between baths)
24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE? My mechanic, just a couple of minutes ago.
25. THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE YOU ARE ATTRACTED TO? Eyes.
26. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON you stole THIS from? Yes. I hope to get to know her better.
27. FAVORITE DRINK? Iced tea--half sweet, half unsweet.
28. FAVORITE SPORT? To play, or to watch? Baseball to watch. "Huggy Monster" to play.
29. EYE COLOR? Hazel (although Owen insists that my eyes are "Blue like Thomas."
30. HAT SIZE? I have no idea. Big, I think.
31. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS? I used to, then the contacts got annoying and I had to switch to glasses. And then I had LASIK. Best money I ever spent.
32. FAVORITE FOOD? I'm way too much of a food whore to be able to answer that question. Sorry.
33. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS? Happy endings of silly, clever romantic comedies. Basically, anything Merchant Ivory ever produced.
35. SUMMER OR WINTER? Winter. I live in freaking South Carolina--I don't even go outside during the entire month of August.
36. HUGS OR KISSES? Yes, please.
37. FAVORITE DESSERT? New York Style cheesecake.
38. WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND? Probably some of my stitching friends. I don't have a huge following in the knit-blogging crowd.
39. LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND? Norma.
40. WHAT BOOKS ARE YOU READING? The Mountain of Silence, by Kyriacos Markides. I'm dying to read The Thirteenth Tale, but I'm not sure I can justify paying for the hardcover.
41. WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE Pad? No mouse pad--optical mouse.
42. WHAT DID YOU WATCH LAST NIGHT ON TV? Dexter, which is creepy and weird and totally fascinating. Hubby and I are hooked.
43. FAVORITE SOUNDS? Pretty much any sound my kids make. Except hacking, wheezing, and puking. I could do without all of those (as could the kids, I'm sure).
44. ROLLING STONE OR BEATLES? Beatles
45. THE FURTHEST YOU'VE BEEN FROM HOME? Malaysia. Damn, that was a cool trip.
46. WHAT'S YOUR SPECIAL TALENT? Overcommitment. It's a gift, really.
